Passed unanimously at a meeting held at Blackwood on
Thursday 10th July 2003
I. The Regional association shall be titled South Atlantic Medal Association Wales or SAMA Wales for short.
II. It shall constitute the following officers as a governing board. Chairperson, Secretary/Treasurer, Welfare Officer and Fundraising co-ordinator. Who must meet at least 4 times during a 12 month period. The meetings being minuted.
III. All members of the board must be full members of SAMA 82.
IV. If more than one person wishes to be on the governing board a vote at the AGM will decide.
V. If votes are equal then the residing board member shall remain in post.
VI. It shall be a non profit making organisation.
VII. A bank account is held with two signatories for cheque authorisation.
VIII. An AGM of the association be held annually.
IX. The treasurer presents a finance report at the AGM.
X. In any event of insolvency all assets will transferred to SAMA 82.
XI. Minutes of the AGM are available for any interested parties.
XII. Minutes of the AGM are sent to the national association.
XIII. The regional association actively promote and encourage new members to join SAMA 82.
XIV. The regional association organise reunions within the principality.
XV. We reaffirm the motto of SAMA 82 “From the Sea –Freedom.”
XVI. We reaffirm that the people of the Falkland Islands have the right to determinate self-government.
XVII. The primary purpose of SAMA Wales is to maintain and promote a sense of pride and comradeship amongst all veterans of the 1982 South Atlantic campaign within Wales, and to keep them in touch with each other in a manner which respects both individual privacy and personal requirements.
XVIII. It shall assist and support veterans and families with PTSD and other mental and physical illness’s.
XIX. It will provide emergency support. And treat all matters as confidential.
