The National 25^th anniversary celebrations are focused in London on Sunday June 17^th. The parade at ‘Horse Guards’ with up to 25,000 people attending is being organised by the Ministry of Defence in consultation with SAMA (82) and other organisations.

SAMA Wales have organised a weekend package centred on this event. Although the final cost per member has yet to be finalised, it is hoped, to be under £100. Additional packages are being looked into.

The cost includes 2 nights accommodation, room only, at the Union Jack Club, Waterloo, based on two sharing. Return travel by coach from either North or South Wales.

SAMA Wales have reserved 50 rooms and these will be allocated on a strictly first come rule. This accommodation at the Union Jack Club is likely to be vastly oversubscribed and so we urge members to pay the deposit immediately to avoid disappointment. Once the rooms have gone it will be up to the members to find alternative accommodation.

The itinerary for the weekend is set down below

Saturday 16th June 2007.

Depart by coach from

 Bangor, Colwyn Bay and Wrexham in N/Wales and Swansea, Cardiff and Newport in S/Wales.

14:00hrs SAMA Wales boat trip up the Thames.

18:00hrs Rtn from boat trip and back to hotel.

Evening. Meal at the hotel and organised event.

Sunday 17th June.

Depart hotel for Horse Guards TTBA

Parade in Central London.

Reception for all Veterans and guests in St James Park.

Evening. Meal at the hotel.

Monday 18th June.

Morning. Group event trip on the London Eye

Depart London for drop off points in Wales TTBA.

Saturday afternoon boat trip.

Your branch will be holding a reception for special guests and other SAMA members aboard a river boat, with a capacity for 250 people. A 3 to 4 hour trip will take in all the sights on the river Thames. There is a charge of £10 per person for this unique opportunity. There is of course a bar on board with pub prices. (no food)
